So today was... DIFFERENT!
Ihave had a darling client on the books for a repeat glamour session for a few months and we, of course, are friends on facebook!
So I saw her asking specifically for recommendations for a photographer that could capture a headshot for her husband as his company was looking to honor him for his DECADES of service...I was in.
I was ready.
I told her to just bring him to her session if he was available.
Some of you may remember that I lived in LA for over half a decade and I am a very experienced headshot photographer.
I knew I could produce the exact image they wanted without too much muss or fuss and I would be happy to treat them to this as she had been such a sweet and amazing client!
So they arrived at my studio this morning and I read over the exact specifications from his employer and knew I had it all under control.
A bit of lint rolling later - here we were. I coached him through it all as my hair and makeup artist got started on the lady's hair style for her session.
And look.
I get it.
Most of us don't like getting in front of the camera.
This gentleman said he had only had his professional picture taken once or twice.
That is the case of most of us.We don't know where to put out hands, when to smile, what to do with ourselves....
So we just freeze up.
We do the awkward "cheese" face and just pray for it to be over.
But that is the difference between posing for someone who doesn't know what they are doing and a working professional.
The male portrait in this diptych is the twelve frame I popped off in our short session and it totally captures this man's personality!
I am so excited to know that it will be used to honor his loyalty and work ethic in the headquarters of a large corporation!
Once we got what we needed for him, we sent him on his way and I was able to focus on my lady who came in because it is HER BIRTHDAY!
So the real party started then🥳😉
We had an excellent time as we did the last time she shot with me.
I swear we laughed almost every other minute!
So why am I sharing this?
I just want to let you know how dynamic portraiture can be.
These photos were taken just about an hour apart from each other about three feet away from each other and you can see how differently they look!
That is not only a great use of space by the photographer (*ahem* me) but also understanding the clients' wants, desires, and needs.
When you come into my studio you don't have to worry about looking good in front of the camera.I will coach you through each step!
