Reclaiming Her Femininity // Kansas City Boudoir Photography
When you a book a boudoir session with LGEmerick Photography you will receive a questionnaire helping me understand exactly where you comfort levels lie from music tastes or makeup styles to pose preferences.
It also asks about your favorite parts of YOU! Because let’s face it, we may all have something about ourselves we would like to shift or change in some way, but all of us also have some feature that we love.
The Brave Boss Babe with a really sweet and sincere desire to just feel feminine (she isn’t the first and won’t be the last!). She has worked in male oriented industries for years, competed in the fitness arena, and is all too used to comments being made about her strong, powerful physique. She came into this session in a bit of a flux.
She was transitioning careers to something that would give her more freedom and fulfillment in the long run, but switching careers is always stressful.
She also was recovering from a back injury that had kept her from training the way she was used to doing.
She also had just gotten out of a relationship where her partner had made comments that left her feeling less than the beautiful woman she is.
All of that put together a perfect storm that made me SO glad she found her way to me and my studio so we could work through it all and really discover the beauty.
One thing she mentioned was that she didn’t feel super confident about her booty. Being in the fitness world she was always surrounded with what she felt was the ‘perfect’ behind and never really measured up. So obviously it became my mission to show her not only that her booty was amazing, but that strength and femininity are NOT mutually exclusive!
The following pictures are two photos she absolutely fell in love with and really felt they embraced what she wanted to experience in her session with me because:
a.) The first photo is a riff on some more athletic workout type energy that emphasizes her personal strength while also highlighting all of the hard work she has put into her body.
b.) The second image is all things soft and feminine with the warm light and the gentle curves.
I wanted her to see both sides of herself in this session and I definitely think that happened!
