Rachel & Tom // Kansas City Wedding

Rachel & Tom // Kansas City Wedding

Getting married outside in the Midwest is a tricky affair – especially in the month of May. Anything can happen! From blizzards to tornadoes – downpours to ninety degree days, you really roll the die when you are a Midwest bride. You have to be ready for anything! Lucky for Rachel and Tom no matter what: their day would be perfect because The Eighteen Ninety is an amazing venue with great indoor and outdoor options so no matter the weather they would be juuuust fine.

By the grace of God their first pick for everything is exactly what worked out for their big day. Their outdoor ceremony and reception were absolutely divine and their day in May in Kansas City was to die for.

Eighteen Ninety is a fantastic venue with both indoor and outdoor options along with great spaces for bride and groom alike to prepare for their special moments. It can be everything from classic and elegant to whimsical and bohemian to modern and chic and is one of my favorite spaces in Kansas City. Shooting here is ALWAYS a total dream.

I was joined by some really talented vendors including Shanelise on hair and makeup, Caitlin Eve Anderson on bridal hair and makeup, Paula Rebottaro and Chelsea Pfannenstiel on floral, Wayne Gassmann of GassMedia on video, Veloute French Market & Catering on food, and Kate Smith Soiree on desserts . For apparel the groom was dressed in H&M with accessories from Ross and the bride’s dress was from Anthropologie’s BHLDN line. The bride’s engagement ring was from Honey Jewelry Co. Both the bride and groom’s wedding bands came from Jagh in Paris, France.

This day had so many unique, special touches.

The bride and groom clearly knew exactly what they wanted for their special day and it showed in every corner of the event!

From the preparation space, to the unique first “look” (the bride did the groom’s hair while his eyes were closed. So precious!), to the custom vows, to the gorgeous dancers that ushered in the bride to the ceremony, to the amazing food and a little truck that dispensed brews and bubbly of choice… the day was perfect from start to finish. It was so amazingly fun to be a part of it and capture the unforgettable feeling that was created by such an amazing event.

Anyway there was so much to love about this totally unique and fun celebration that it would take a dozen books to do it credit, so instead I will just show you some pictures!

Enjoy!
